Volunteer Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: August 17, 2026

The Walker Foundation

Volunteer & Event Registration Platform: www.thewalkerevents.com

These Terms & Conditions govern volunteer registration, account access, and participation in events, programs, and activities organized or administered by The Walker Foundation.

By registering, creating an account, accepting a volunteer assignment, or participating as a volunteer, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1

Volunteer Status

Participation as a volunteer is voluntary. Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, volunteers are not employees, independent contractors, agents, or representatives authorized to legally bind The Walker Foundation. Volunteer service does not create an entitlement to wages, benefits, compensation, or future employment.

2

Registration & Account Information

Volunteers agree to provide accurate and current information during registration. Each volunteer is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for activity conducted through their authorized account. Accounts may not be shared or transferred.

3

Volunteer Approval

Registration does not guarantee acceptance or placement as a volunteer. The Walker Foundation reserves the right to approve, deny, reassign, suspend, or discontinue participation when reasonably necessary for event operations, safety, policy compliance, or organizational needs.

4

Volunteer Conduct

Volunteers are expected to treat others respectfully, follow instructions from authorized Foundation representatives, maintain appropriate behavior, follow event, venue, safety, and security requirements, remain within assigned roles, protect confidential information, and report safety concerns or emergencies.

5

Child & Youth Protection

Volunteers working with or around children must follow applicable Foundation child-protection procedures. Volunteers may not engage in unauthorized one-on-one activities with minors, transport a child without authorization, obtain unnecessary personal information from a child, or communicate privately with a minor outside authorized Foundation activities.

6

Privacy & Confidentiality

Volunteers may encounter confidential or personal information concerning children, parents, guardians, attendees, donors, partners, volunteers, or Foundation operations. Such information may only be accessed and used for authorized volunteer responsibilities.

7

Photography, Video & Social Media

Volunteers may not photograph, record, livestream, interview, or publicly identify children or families during Foundation activities unless specifically authorized and required permissions have been obtained.

8

Platform Use

www.thewalkerevents.com may only be used for legitimate Foundation event and volunteer activities. Users may not attempt unauthorized access, interfere with security or operation, introduce malicious code, collect information through unauthorized automated methods, misrepresent identity, or use platform information for unauthorized purposes.

9

Intellectual Property

The Walker Foundation's names, logos, program names, event materials, designs, photographs, written materials, training resources, digital content, and other intellectual property may not be copied, reproduced, modified, sold, or used commercially without authorization.

10

Safety & Assumption of Risk

Volunteers understand that participation in community events and volunteer activities may involve ordinary risks. Volunteers agree to follow reasonable safety instructions and immediately report injuries, hazards, or unsafe conditions.

11

Medical Emergencies

If a medical emergency occurs during volunteer participation, authorized event personnel may contact emergency services and take reasonable steps to obtain assistance.

12

Personal Property

Volunteers are responsible for securing personal belongings during events. To the extent permitted by law, The Walker Foundation is not responsible for personal property that is lost, stolen, or damaged unless responsibility is otherwise established by applicable law.

13

Background Checks & Additional Requirements

Certain positions may require additional screening, training, identification, professional credentials, parental/guardian authorization, background checks, or other requirements.

14

Venue Rules

Volunteers participating at third-party venues must comply with applicable venue policies, security procedures, access restrictions, emergency instructions, and credential requirements.

15

Prohibited Solicitation

Volunteer access may not be used to recruit Foundation families, volunteers, employees, partners, vendors, or participants for unauthorized outside organizations, businesses, programs, or personal ventures.

16

Removal or Termination

The Walker Foundation may remove a volunteer from an assignment or revoke platform access for safety concerns, policy violations, inappropriate behavior, misuse of information, unauthorized system access, failure to follow instructions, or disruption of Foundation activities.

17

Cancellation & Scheduling

Volunteer schedules, assignments, locations, responsibilities, and event details may change because of operational needs, emergencies, weather, venue requirements, cancellations, or circumstances outside the Foundation's reasonable control.

18

Privacy Policy

Use of the volunteer platform is also subject to The Walker Foundation's Volunteer Privacy & Data Protection Policy.

19

Electronic Communications

By registering through the platform, volunteers may receive operational communications regarding registration, assignments, schedules, training, event changes, safety information, or other matters related to participation.

20

Compliance With Law

Volunteers must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws while participating in Foundation activities. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

21

Changes to These Terms

The Walker Foundation may update these Terms & Conditions when practices, programs, technology, venue requirements, or applicable laws change.

22

Volunteer Agreement

By selecting “I Agree,” creating a volunteer account, registering for an assignment, or participating in a Foundation volunteer activity, I acknowledge that I have read and understand these Terms & Conditions, agree to follow Foundation requirements, will protect confidential information, will follow authorized instructions, and understand violations may result in removal or termination of platform access.
